It's been a week of fun with Kate! She is really growing up to be a thoughtful, creative and brave young lady. I got to hang with her on Thursday for a while, and then we were able to see her Broadway performance on Sunday. I hope to post some videos, but for now, her bow (and more pictures here):
Today (Tuesday), was our "Kate and Mee Bee Day" at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather! And, attention cousins: this photo is all you need to know:
What a fun time Eric and I had babysitting Xavier last night! Karen and Jeff had a senior banquet to attend, so we got to spend the evening playing with a very cute boy. He was good as gold and unfortunately for Stessi, MeeBee pulls ahead in the name-brainwashing race!
While I was hard at work on a portrait, my cat, Melville, was toiling away at this lovely little composition. Why is it that cats always seem to sleep on something that color-coordinates with their fur?
I did paint today! I'll post pictures soon, after I get approval from my client. Here's some evidence, though:
I also have been doing calligraphy for a friend's wedding invitations:
All in all, a good summer so far! What have you been doing?
What a great job she did in her relays (doing butterfly, no less, in the medley) and especially in backstroke. We've got LOTS of good teams to cheer for this year: Mary T., Springhurst and Wolf Creek! Go everyone!
Stephanie helped Margaret finish her very first 25 Free. Christopher kicked tail in the Medley relay, and James did fabulous in the 100 IM (the only event I saw before lightning shut down the meet).
In other news, James is taller than me. Siiigh....
I've cheated again and updated life happenings approximately around the times the events actually happened. So scroll down and relive April and May, if June's already too hot for you.
I think these two shots make a great portrait of the "little" girls in the morning. Julie and Kevin may not agree about Mary Therese's yogurt face, though....
I went up on Tuesday and stayed at the Kathman Farm overnight. Then, Wednesday, we get ready to go. We fed the geese at Cave Hill with Aunt Stessi, and then got ice cream. Later, we took the bus to Bearno's by the Bridge for pizza with our Keller and Barnett cousins. Do you see the Bearno's ghost here?
After pizza, we went on the Louisville Ghost Tour. It was a lot of walking, but very fun and a little scary. More pictures of the tour are here.
Thursday was Kentucky Kingdom, and boy was it hot! Check the link above for some great shots. Here we are riding the Viking Ship.
Both Sam and Will rode Greezed Lightnin'! I was so proud! It is indeed a fun ride. They had a lot of fun getting soaked at the Looney Toons show. These boys are so comfortable on the stage, it's scary. Hmmm...wonder where they get that from?
Friday we walked around Old Louisville picking up trash, and then we got soaked in the Central Park fountain. We continued the water fun with swimming at Wolf Creek with our Keller cousins. Then, we drove back to Bloomington with Stessi and Kate, just in time to watch the crazy storms roll in.
Phew! I think I've recuperated. Who's next, kiddos?
Welcome! I am an early childhood educator with a background in studio art and French. My hope is to share with you some of the things I love: painting, my family, photography, and being outdoors. Tell me what you think!
